Where you still in the early upgrade phpBB deal even with manual labor code and other nasty things had, there is now a respectable solution.
Especially the phpBB beta was still heavy in their first releases up to straight-and to keep the data. (I only remember the UTF-8 conversion)
Today I am now dealing with an update of my test board and discovered this great tool. Simply upload data from the archive and follow the setup.
Customizing the database to the new version now done automatically. The real hammer is the update file, where you are currently at earlier mod, still had to compare each file, all files automatically and displayed differences compared to the previous original and the New.
Class work, I say just because!
